We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Events Business Development Manager to drive new business growth by developing commercially successful event products that better utilise our cinema spaces for a broader range of entertainment experiences. This role focuses on identifying new revenue opportunities through proactive outbound sales, while also expanding and diversifying our offer beyond traditional screenings through private hire, live events, festivals, comedy, gaming, esports, and other audience-led formats.
Working closely with the Head of Events and key internal stakeholders, you will take ownership of developing and rolling out scalable event formats across the cinema estate. You will be responsible for shaping commercially robust concepts, ensuring they are operationally viable, audience-led, and deliver strong return on investment through effective planning, execution, and performance evaluation.
Salary: Up to £43,000 + additional commission based on targets.
Location: This role will be based in Brentford, London but will include regular travel and some flexibility with working hours will be required.
What will you be doing?
- You will identify and develop new commercial event strands and products, taking concepts from initial idea through to pilot delivery to national rollout across the cinema estate, ensuring plans are scalable and operationally sound.
- You will lead the creative and commercial curation of events, including securing talent, content partners, rights holders, suppliers, and sponsorship opportunities.
- You will build and manage commercial models for each event, setting pricing strategies, forecasting revenue, managing budgets, and ensuring strong return on investment.
- You will work collaboratively with a variety of departments, including Events, Operations, Marketing, Technical, Film, Retail and Commercial teams to execute pilot events and manage the logistical and operational delivery of successful concepts as they scale across the wider estate.
- You will take ownership of performance tracking, using audience insight and financial results to refine event formats and drive continuous growth, including the rollout of gaming and esports initiatives.
About you
- You will have proven experience in commercial events, event programming, or live entertainment, with a track record of developing new business and delivering revenue growth.
- You will bring strong commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting income, setting pricing models, and evaluating ROI.
- You will be a confident communicator and relationship builder, comfortable working with internal stakeholders, partners, sponsors, and external suppliers.
- You will be an organised and proactive self-starter, able to manage multiple event strands simultaneously while balancing creative ambition with operational realities.
- You will have a genuine interest in live events, alternative content (comedy and podcasts for example), and emerging formats such as gaming and esports, with the ability to spot and shape new opportunities.
