What is the job?
Do you want to be the legal backbone of a multi-billion-dollar global entertainment company? That is exactly what we want from our new In-house Legal Counsel here at Cineworld & Picturehouse Cinemas. You’ll be a core part of our legal team working closely with our Head of Legal (International), providing expert advice on everything from commercial contracts to data protection. You will be fundamental in assessing potential risks to the business and propose practical, business-focused solutions to help our various departments to continue delivering our vision of sharing joy through unforgettable experiences.
What will you be doing?
You will offer legal analysis and guidance on commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives while mitigating risks, lead contract negotiations and independently draft commercial agreements. You will manage and prioritise multiple complex legal matters effectively, whilst staying ahead of legal developments, particularly in data protection and emerging technologies, and advising on their impact to Cineworld’s business operations. You will collaborate with the UK legal team and various departments across the wider business, building strong relationships to become a trusted legal partner at Cineworld.
About you
You’re a general commercial lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of PQE in a reputable law firm or in-house legal environment, where you can demonstrate a strong track record of negotiating supplier, procurement, and technology agreements, with a deep understanding of GDPR, privacy compliance, and cross-border data transfers. You’re well-versed in marketing, advertising, and B2B law, advising on everything from terms and conditions to prize competitions and ensuring CAP Code and ASA compliance. You bring a strategic mindset, balancing risk management with business innovation, clearly communicating actionable legal advice to senior internal stakeholders. You are comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, have excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams at the same time and ensuring you meet tight deadlines.
