About The Role
At cinch our mission is simple – to remove the faff from buying and owning cars, giving customers more choice, with more ease (not to mention a free 90‑day warranty on all cars). Already the UK's largest online used car retailer, we’re expanding our offering with an exciting roadmap of online and physical retail solutions – including faff‑free car servicing at over 100 locations across the country. We’re part of Constellation Automotive Group – a family of brands that also includes We Buy Any Car, British Car Auctions (BCA) and Marshall Motor Group. Together, cinch and Marshall operate as Constellation Retail, bringing together 100+ years of motoring know‑how at 130+ stores (Marshall) with a market‑leading digital experience from a much‑admired brand (cinch). The road ahead for you is clear. Join us and you’ll get a unique opportunity to grow your career across two leading automotive brands that are really going places. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
What you’ll be working on:
- Own the vision and roadmap for the part‑exchange and order management products, driving a seamless and transparent experience from valuation to order completion.
- Break down complex problems to help customers buy or sell a car, working with teams within cinch, Marshall and across Constellation Automotive Group.
- Build and articulate product vision, translating strategy into meaningful outcomes and delivery goals.
- Lead a key area of an evolving product with a talented multidisciplinary team (Engineers, UXers, Service Designers and Analysts).
- Plan the pipeline of delivery for your product, working closely with other product owners and stakeholders to manage dependencies and overlapping user journeys.
- Translate user needs into compelling user stories, bringing the whole team along.
- Make informed prioritisation decisions, balancing customer needs, commercial value, technical complexity and operational considerations.
- Define success measures and KPIs for your product area, using customer insight, analytics and commercial performance data to drive prioritisation and measure impact.
Things we look for in you:
- Commercially minded, balancing a compelling user value proposition with commercial needs and measurable business outcomes.
- Data‑centric approach – understand the research and numbers. Know what they’re telling you about your customers and your product, define success metrics, use analytics and experimentation to validate decisions, and know how to get the data you need.
- Care about the ‘why’ above all else and are prepared to cut through the noise to get there.
- Ability to lead, organise and inspire designers and engineers with a clear and inclusive vision.
- At home facilitating workshops and involving others in decision making.
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, able to challenge and influence senior stakeholders and team members while aligning people around priorities, trade‑offs and outcomes.
- You have curiosity, resilience and a willingness to explore new technologies – including AI – to unlock better outcomes.
- Strong customer focus, using research, insight and evidence to deeply understand customer problems and shape product decisions.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, taking ownership and driving progress where there is no obvious answer.
- Passion above all else; you won’t have all the answers from day one, but you’ll know how to get there.
Things we’d love to see:
- Experience of working on consumer credit products which put the customer first.
- Ability to evaluate how to extract the most value from third parties and have helped shape external roadmaps to support your objectives.
- You understand the do’s and don’ts of operating in a regulated industry and can demonstrate previous examples of this.
- Expertise at balancing commercial objectives with customer outcomes.
- Strong negotiation skills both internally and externally.
- Vision on the future of finance and consumer credit products, backed by data and insight.
