About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will work with our customers to scope, configure and undertake testing of their new solution, ensuring projects are delivered successfully.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as proven experience in managing projects on time and on budget. Experience in software delivery and change management would also be valuable to the role.
As the team is small, you’ll be very hands-on with the delivery process, which is really rewarding. This is also an amazing opportunity to contribute ideas that can shape improvements to our processes and the solution itself.
What You’ll Do
Be accountable for:
- Project & Programme Planning – Collaborate with stakeholders to define project/programme goals, objectives, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Project/Programme Execution – Lead the project team throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to project schedules and milestones. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure the quality of deliverables and manage change requests. Support the configuration of the solution to align to the client\’s needs.
- Team Management – Build and lead a high-performing project team. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Conduct regular team meetings and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management – Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including clients, executives, development teams, and external vendors. Manage expectations, address concerns, and ensure alignment between project objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Risk Management – Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation plans. Proactively monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle. Implement contingency plans when necessary to minimise the impact on project timelines and deliverables.
- Budget and Resource Management – Develop and manage project budgets, including tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and ensuring cost-effective resource allocation. Coordinate with resource managers to ensure adequate staffing and skill sets for project needs.
- Reporting and Documentation – Generate regular status reports, project documentation, and other project-related artifacts. Provide accurate and timely project updates to stakeholders, management, and clients.
- Process Improvement – Proactively support the business by helping to identify and drive the implementation of new tools, processes and documentation in order to drive continual improvement. Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction – Ensure high levels of stakeholder satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed expectations. Solicit feedback and conduct post-project reviews to gather insights for future improvements.
- Line Management – Be willing to line manage and develop more junior members of the team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
You will have all of the following:
- Proven experience as a Software Project Manager or similar role, with a successful track record of delivering software projects/programmes
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to deadlines
- An aptitude to learn new technology
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
- Whilst not essential, knowledge and awareness of NHS structure is beneficial, particularly across Primary and Secondary Care
