Role: Conference and Event Assistant ( C & E Assistant) – Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week – will include occasional weekend working
Salary: £25,397 + benefits
You\’ll play a key role supporting our customers with their on-site meeting / training / event room requirements. You\’ll be setting up meeting and conference rooms to the high standard required by our customers. You\’ll be setting up all of the I.T / A.V requirements and moving and laying out the furnishings, tables and chairs and all required equipment (heavy lifting involved on a daily basis) etc. With 24 meeting rooms and a 7-day operation, this is a fast-paced role where you\’ll need to have a great eye for detail ensuring we continue to exceed our customer expectations. You\’ll be working alongside some great blue-chip organisations, through to SME\’s and setting up rooms from a 2 person interview room through to a 150 person conference!
In a typical day, you might :
- You\’ll prepare conference/training rooms to customer specification
- You\’ll ensure that all equipment is maintained in operational order and properly stored
- You\’ll be assisting and advising clients on the effective use of technical facilities
- You\’ll be able to maintain excellent relationships with customers and suppliers
- You\’ll meet and greet delegates / participants in the meeting room and be the point of contact throughout the day
- You\’ll ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction every step of the way
For this role, you\’ll need:
- Knowledgeable about all types of presentation media
- Knowledgeable about meeting room setups and breakout areas
- Experienced in setting up rooms for events, banqueting and private parties
- Physically fit as this role requires manual lifting of equipment, furniture, etc.
- Tact, self-motivation and enthusiasm and able to present a calm and professional manner
- Able to communicate effectively with all customers from all walks of life
- Ability to translate the customer requirements into practical solutions
