Role Summary:

Our client, a successful and well-established manufacturer and supplier of electrical power switchboards, is looking for an Electrical Tendering & Commercial Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an additional role due to continued growth, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of the customer journey from tendering through to order and fabrication.

As an Electrical Tendering & Commercial Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting tendering from the design, costing, and quoting process through to production and delivery, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout. You will work closely with customers, the design office, and the shop floor to deliver high-quality solutions, on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the customer journey from end to end
  • Support the design, costing, quoting, production and delivery of switchboards
  • Prepare and issue drawings using AutoCAD LT for customer approval and shop floor fabrication
  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice
  • Work confidently in customer-facing, design office, and shop floor environments
  • Utilise Schneider/Merlin switchgear (Prisma, PowerPact, ACB's, EcoStruxure) and power factor correction systems where applicable
  • Ensure compliance with BS Standard Fuse Boards (Miniform, Red Spot, CMMT) and other industry standards

About You:

  • Experienced Electrical Tendering & Commercial Design Engineer with a strong foundation in power switchgear and panel design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD LT and familiar with the tendering process
  • Customer-focused with excellent commercial acumen and communication skills
  • A proactive problem solver who enjoys working collaboratively
