A successful and well-established engineering manufacturer is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This role is an additional hire driven by continued business growth and increased demand.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to take ownership of projects from tendering through to order and fabrication, working across both technical and customer-facing environments.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting tendering activity from the design, costing and quoting stage through to production and delivery, ensuring accuracy, quality and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with customers, the design office and the workshop to deliver engineered solutions on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the customer journey from initial enquiry through to delivery.
  • Support the design, costing, quoting, production and delivery of engineered electrical systems.
  • Prepare and issue drawings using AutoCAD LT for customer approval and shop floor fabrication.
  • Engage with clients to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.
  • Work confidently across customer-facing, design office and production environments.
  • Utilise industry-standard switchgear platforms and power factor correction systems where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK electrical standards and internal quality requirements.

About You:

  • Experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong foundation in electrical power distribution, switchgear or panel design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD LT with a good understanding of the tendering and project delivery process.
  • Commercially aware and customer focused, with strong communication skills.
  • A proactive problem solver who enjoys working collaboratively across teams.
