We are currently looking for a new Independent Living Partner to join our team in Yeovil, also covering the Martock and Somerton areas. Full driving licence required with available use of car as travel is essential to this role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide the housing management functions in a designated scheme/properties for older people.
- You will be the first point of contact for tenancy, leasehold and scheme management for customers living in our Independent Living schemes.
- Support customers to receive their agreed welfare contact and, when appropriate, refer customers to services within and external to Abri where these might meet an identified need.
- Manage the social alarm system and complete all compliance and health and safety checks across relevant buildings.
- Collaborate to create and maintain strong resident involvement and community engagement.
- Work as a lone worker and be prepared to travel and provide cover across the region when required and, by exception, across all Independent Living geography.
- Work flexibly outside normal hours when required, including evenings, bank holidays or weekends; normal service hours are 8am to 4pm.
- In the event of a critical and/or major out of hours emergency, participate in a response.
- Complete DBS checks as required.
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent communication skills, flexibility and an understanding of the needs of older people.
- Ability to promote independence and a strong understanding of housing-related issues.
- Confidence in using IT.
- Experience in housing management or related fields is desirable.
Requirements:
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel.
- A willingness to travel and cover across the region when required.
- Prepared to work outside of normal hours as necessary.
