Woking Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our busy and dedicated Housing Standards Team as a Housing Standards Officer on a full time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities- Improve housing standards across the Borough by working pro‑actively and providing advice and guidance.
- Undertake detailed property inspections.
- Take appropriate enforcement action using a wide range of relevant legislation, including licensing, to reduce hazards in housing in the private sector.
- Operate at the forefront of major sector changes, including the implementation of the Renters' Rights Bill and the introduction of Additional Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation.
- Experience in Housing Standards and knowledge of housing legislation across all areas of housing standards.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate accurately and effectively with a wide range of people.
- A positive and confident outlook, experience of working with diverse client groups.
- Valid full driver’s licence.
- Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
- Potential to undertake a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Regulatory Compliance with a focus on Housing.
