This is a floating support service which means locations vary from outreach sites, personal homes, and our office. Please be aware that although there is step‑free access at our base office, we cannot guarantee step‑free access in outreach sites and participant homes.
Salary: £28,800 (Annual)
Shift Pattern: 5‑month fixed‑term contract, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota which can range between 08:00–16:00, 09:00–17:00 and 10:00–18:00. You may be required to work outside these hours depending on service and participant requirements.
About the Role
We're hiring a Housing Support Worker to join our floating support service based in Brent. The service supports adults who have been or are at risk of homelessness, have experienced social exclusion, have previous criminal convictions, suffer from mental health issues, have substance misuse problems, and/or may have a learning disability. You will support participants on their journey towards recovery, reablement, and independence in a compassionate, trauma‑informed environment. In this role, you will deliver high‑quality, person‑centred support through tailored support plans to empower participants to overcome personal challenges, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. You will also work closely in partnership with various organisations to meet the different needs of our participants, including signposting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support participants in all aspects of their housing needs to ensure sustainable housing.
- Co‑create tailored support plans centred on participants’ needs.
- Signpost participants to local providers such as Job Centres, employment support hubs, community support centres, mental health trusts, and other relevant services.
- Recognise individual support needs and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent further deterioration.
- Complete safeguarding and other referrals where required.

- Understanding of the housing support needs that people with multiple and complex needs face.
- Knowledge of the external environment to support those who have experienced or are experiencing homelessness.
- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or good understanding of the sector.
- Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
- Willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents.
- Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with complex needs.
