What you will do:
- Independently chair Looked After Child Reviews, ensuring all statutory requirements and timescales are met
- Develop and scrutinise care plans, addressing permanency, stability, education, health, and emotional wellbeing
- Monitor progress and accountability, ensuring agreed actions are implemented effectively
- Provide independent challenge to social workers and managers where practice improvements are required
- Escalate concerns appropriately, using the IRO dispute resolution process when necessary
- Ensure children's and young people's views are central, actively advocating for their voices to be heard
- Oversee cases subject to care proceedings, ensuring timely and effective safeguarding and permanency planning
- Identify and act on safeguarding concerns promptly and robustly
- Maintain high-quality records and contribute to audits and service development
