Strategic Housing Officer in Sheffield

This is a varied role for someone who can turn complex information into clear advice and practical action.

You will work across the Council and with external partners, contributing to housing strategies and policies, research, market intelligence and service improvement.

What you will do

• Develop and review housing strategies, policies and evidence to support decision making.
• Build effective relationships with Council services, residents, community groups and partner organisations.
• Research and analyse housing issues, legislation, policy and market trends, producing clear briefings and recommendations.
• Lead defined projects and work areas, managing priorities, deadlines and performance information.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and consultation material for a range of audiences.
• About the team

The Strategic Housing team is expanding and works across Housing and Neighbourhood Services, wider Council services and city partners.

The team supports the development of housing strategy and policy.

It builds the evidence needed for effective decision making and helps the Council respond to changing housing needs, regulation and national policy.

Full time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement.

We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade.

If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
