An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Person's Independent Living Service for recruitment of a temporary full-time Team Manager to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will have responsibility for a team of staff including Neighbourhood Officers and Caretakers and will be part of a wider Management Team supporting service delivery for OPIL schemes across a geographical area.
The role will require a combination of office and site-based working across the city and a requirement to work out of hours on an on-call rota basis. This will include nights and weekends. You will manage and assist in delivering an innovative, high quality, continually improving and customer focused service across all of our teams. This includes Housing Management and Support, Caretaking service, Young at Heart project, Business support and Tenancy Management. You will have experience of working in partnership, managing change and have knowledge of the challenges facing the housing sector.
The ideal candidate is customer focused, an excellent communicator, motivated, passionate about working with older and vulnerable people, and improving services.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share. If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
