We are recruiting for an Income Recovery Officer to join our team in Portsmouth. This full‑time permanent position requires 37 hours per week, with a minimum of 20% office‑based. The role involves managing a caseload of rent arrears accounts and supporting customers to sustain their tenancies, with eviction as a last resort.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of rent arrears accounts in line with agreed procedures.
- Engaging with customers to record contacts, agreements, and referrals.
- Providing tailored support and advice to help customers sustain tenancies.
- Developing a strong understanding of benefits and payment processes.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams (neighbourhoods, tenancy support) and external agencies (housing options, DWP, homelessness services).
- Ensuring business and customer impacts are considered in all recovery actions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in debt recovery and a customer‑centric environment.
- Demonstrable awareness and knowledge of the social housing sector.
