Newport City Council’s housing and communities services deliver excellent outcomes for residents, and we are looking for an Accommodation Officer to join our Private Sector Initiatives Team. The role will assist with bookings for temporary accommodation and manage Temporary, Transitional and Settled accommodation provided by the Council to respond to homelessness in Newport.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Booking and managing temporary accommodation for clients.
  • Co‑ordinating Temporary, Transitional and Settled accommodation schemes.
  • Liaising with landlords and agents to enable clients to access the private rented sector.
  • Supporting the delivery of Welsh Government initiatives to end homelessness, including the Ending Homelessness Action Plan and the Rapid Rehousing Transition Plan.
