Join Inspire North as a Housing Support Worker! Ready to make a real difference and feel great doing it? At Inspire North, we believe every young person deserves someone in their corner – someone who sees their potential, champions their strengths, and helps them take brave steps toward independence. If that sounds like your kind of job, pull up a chair – we’d love to meet you.
Working within Our Way Leeds, an Ofsted‑registered service, you’ll support young people aged 16‑25, including care leavers and unaccompanied asylum seekers, to feel safe, settled and supported as they take steps toward independent living. This is practical, hands‑on work, providing housing‑related support shaped around each young person’s strengths, needs and lived experiences. While the role can be challenging at times, it’s also deeply rewarding and relies on patience, resilience and the ability to build consistent, trusting relationships – particularly with young people who may have experienced trauma or instability.
Your focus will be on helping young people to:
- Build confidence and independence at a pace that works for them
- Develop the skills they need to move on successfully
- Feel safe, heard and believed in
Through your support, you’ll make a genuine difference, helping young people feel secure, settled and hopeful about their future. This role operates on a 3‑week rolling rota, including weekends. Shift times are:
- 7:30am – 3:30pm
- 2:30pm – 10:30pm
Working hours and days will be discussed further at interview, based on operational needs and candidate availability.
What Makes You Our Kind of Person:
- A good understanding of safeguarding and a genuine commitment to promoting young people’s safety and wellbeing
- Clear, confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain things in a way that’s kind, patient and easy to understand
- An understanding of tenancy responsibilities, including rent management and helping young people maintain their homes
- Experience supporting people one‑to‑one and/or in group settings, whether through paid work or volunteering
- Experience working alongside people who face barriers, adversity or additional support needs, and the empathy to meet them where they are
- A full UK driving licence (or equivalent) and access to a vehicle for work purposes
Why Join Us?
