Join Our Team as a Housing Support Worker! Do you enjoy supporting people to overcome challenges and take positive steps towards a more independent life? Are you motivated by meaningful work where compassion, resilience and practical action come together to create real change?
As a Housing Support Worker within our Beacon / Somewhere Safe to Live Team, you will provide person‑centred, housing‑related support to adults who may have complex needs, experience of homelessness, isolation or safeguarding concerns. You will manage your own caseload, carry out assessments, develop trauma‑informed support plans and deliver regular face‑to‑face support that helps people maintain their tenancies, build confidence and work towards successful move‑on into independent living. This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are the same.
You will travel across Leeds, supporting people to move into new homes, manage rent and bills, set up utilities, maintain safe and welcoming properties, and link in with specialist services when needed. You will also work closely with colleagues, landlords and partner agencies, attend multi‑agency meetings and play a key role in safeguarding.
Responsibilities
- Provide person‑centred, housing‑related support to adults with complex needs, including assessments, support planning, and face‑to‑face support.
- Maintain accurate records, manage caseload, coordinate with specialist services, and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.
Qualifications
- Experience in supporting individuals through challenging situations, encouraging positive engagement and offering support in difficult moments.
- Confident managing a caseload, delivering support, and keeping accurate records.
- Able to apply and promote risk management to working practices in line with policies and procedures.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence (or one permitting driving in the UK) with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
