We're looking for an experienced Housing Manager to lead our rent function and raise the bar on performance, compliance, and customer outcomes. This is an important leadership role for a subject matter expert in social housing. We’re looking for someone who understands the complexities of rent debt management, rent setting, debt performance, housing law and regulatory expectations, and can confidently lead a team to deliver outstanding results.
What you’ll be accountable for:
- Leading a team of rent officers – driving high performance and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
- Providing expert oversight – ensuring full compliance with rent policy, regulatory standards, and legislation.
- Improving performance – using data and insight to challenge, innovate, and continuously improve service delivery.
- Developing a high‑performing team – coaching and empowering colleagues to deliver excellent outcomes.
- Handling complexity – supporting the resolution of escalated and complex rent‑related cases.
- Shaping strategy delivery – working closely with the Operations Manager to deliver our vision, Housing Made Simple, with a focus on simplicity, compliance, and customer experience.

What we’re looking for:
- Experience in social housing rent debt collection, with strong technical knowledge of housing law and best practice.
- A track record of leading high‑performing teams and improving service outcomes.
- Proven ability to drive performance through data, insight, and accountability.
- Confidence to act as a recognised expert and decision‑maker in complex rent matters.
- Experience delivering continuous improvement and influencing wider organisational direction.
- Strong coaching and leadership skills, with the ability to challenge, support, and develop others.
Essential:
- Social housing experience in a rents or income‑focused role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- GCSE (or equivalent) and willingness to work towards CIH Level 4 (if not already held).
