Housing Options Officer

Starting salary between £30,780 and £37,068 per annum (plus cost of living).

Based at King's Court Council Office, Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

As a Housing Options Officer, you will play a vital role in helping individuals and families navigate these difficult situations, providing advice, support and practical solutions that can prevent homelessness and create better futures. You will work as part of a team to make a real difference to our community when they need it most. This is a challenging, rewarding and varied role where no two days are the same.

Responsibilities

• Assess housing needs and develop personalised housing plans.
• Negotiate with landlords and partner agencies to secure suitable housing.
• Support households in accessing additional support services.
• Balance compassion with professionalism to achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure statutory duties under homelessness legislation are met.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong customer service skills.
• Experience in housing, welfare, social care, or another customer‑focused environment.
• Previous experience working in mental health or supporting victim‑survivors of domestic abuse is welcomed.
• Excellent communication skills, a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
• Resilient, empathetic and driven by a desire to help others.
