Support Officer – Housing Support
Location: Brandon Gate, Hamilton
Hours: 35 hours per week.
Salary: £33,468 – £34,399 per year.
Two posts: one permanent, one fixed term until July 2027.
Responsibilities
As a Support Officer you will deliver a wide range of services to homeless households, including support, case management, and liaison with agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable people.
Qualifications & Experience
- Similar experience working in a housing support service with clients in vulnerable or distressed situations.
- Knowledge of current issues and legislation in relation to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
- Practical knowledge of IT packages including the Academy & Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to organise, prioritise workload effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with a variety of agencies.
- Willingness to undertake further training/qualifications, including those introduced by the Scottish Social Services Council.
Legal & Disclosure Requirements
- Post is excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Scotland Act 2020.
- Post is a regulated role with adults under the Disclosure Scotland Act 2020; applicants barred from working with adults are ineligible.
- Preferred candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before formal offer.
Overseas Criminal Records Check
Applicants born outside the UK or who have lived/worked abroad for at least three months in the past 10 years must provide a translated Overseas Criminal Record Check with evidence of no pending criminal proceedings.
