The Vacancy

In our Housing Officer role, you\βll provide a high-standard, customer-focused housing service within a defined geographical area, ensuring compliance with Amplius policies, actively engaging residents in service delivery and neighbourhood involvement, and working collaboratively with local partners to enhance the quality of life in the community.
Location: Hybrid β with travel across Gainsborough, Scunthorpe and surrounding areas with a minimum of 1 day per week in our Lincoln Office.
Salary: Up to Β£38,730.23 per year
Contract: Permanent
Your week: 36.25 hours p/week (Monday to Friday, 9am β 5.15pm with a 1-hour break)
Snapshot of your role
This is what your day will look like as our Housing Officer:
- Work alongside the Lettings Team and Property Services Team to lead on all new lettings from point of successful application and pre-tenancy to tenancy terminations and through the void process ensuring that key performance indicators in respect of re-let times and void loss are achieved and exceeded.
- Effectively manage starter tenancies in accordance with Amplius\β policy and procedure; complete new tenant visits to ensure the tenant has moved in and is complying with the terms of their tenancy. If necessary, engage with our Tenancy Enforcement Team to initiate legal action for any breaches of tenancy, attending court and evictions as required.
- Be the lead in respect of managing and reviewing complaints of anti-social behaviour, race and hate crime incidents and hoarding in accordance with Amplius\β policy and procedure and working alongside the Tenancy Enforcement Team and ASB specialists within that team.
- To ensure that potential safeguarding issues involving both adults and children are identified and managed in partnership with other agencies.
- To support tenants who have suffered domestic abuse, working proactively with other agencies to advise and protect victims.
Your toolkit for success
To thrive in our Housing Officer role, you\βll need:
- Knowledge of Housing Law and experience of practical application of legislation and legal processes.
- Ability to demonstrate effective partnership working that has yielded successful results for both the business and customer(s).
- Can prioritise workloads and is able to meet set deadlines.
- A good working knowledge of IT applications such as Word, Excel, email and Microsoft Outlook
- Able to work on own initiative and as a flexible team member, willing to support colleagues and take on varied tasks.
Please note that having a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role to visit our customers.
