In this role you will provide practical, day-to-day support to households experiencing homelessness, often in emergency or crisis situations. Weekly hours will be on a rota-based shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Shifts will be from between 8am - 9.30pm Monday - Friday and 8am - 8.30pm on weekends. Working within one of our supported accommodation centres across the city, you will be part of a team delivering a temporary accommodation service, ensuring residents feel safe, supported and able to move forward.
Responsibilities
- Support residents on arrival and throughout their stay in temporary accommodation
- Assist with housing benefit claims and basic financial arrangements
- Help residents plan their move into longer-term accommodation
- Carry out room inspections and safety checks
- Respond flexibly to the needs of individuals and families
- Write brief case notes and maintain accurate records
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to support positive outcomes
