We are looking to recruit a Homelessness Prevention Officer to work directly, both virtually and face to face, with individuals and families at the earliest stage possible to prevent homelessness. The person appointed should have experience of undertaking homelessness prevention or tenancy support work and knowledge of the rehousing options available to potentially homeless households in Calderdale.
Responsibilities
- Work directly, virtually and face to face, with individuals and families at the earliest stage to prevent their homelessness.
- Provide advice and support to residents to remain in their home or find alternative suitable accommodation.
- Utilise knowledge of homelessness legislation and rehousing options available in Calderdale.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience with homelessness prevention or tenancy support work.
- Knowledge of rehousing options available to potentially homeless households in Calderdale.
- Working knowledge of homelessness legislation.
- Full driving licence with independent access to a car (use of a car is essential).
- Clear enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
