Main Purpose
To support individuals within their temporary accommodation gain the necessary skills to move on to independent living.
- Housing Support Worker Tasks
- Assessment of eligible referrals
- Moving individuals into Target accommodation
- Ensure compliance with tenancy/licence agreements & rights and responsibilities
- Develop a person-centered support plan and risk assessment
- Structured support visits
- Support to report repairs and maintenance issues
- Housing management tasks, (e. g void reporting, monitoring rent/HB payments, H & S checks)
- Multi-agency working & signposting to other agencies
- Maximising income & budgeting
- Move on plans & support to obtain independent accommodation
Person Specifications
- Understanding of supported housing principles, tenancy rights and responsibilities
- Understanding of GDPR/Data Protection Act and safeguarding adults
- Basic knowledge of the Welfare Benefits System.
- An understanding of risk assessments and support planning
- Awareness of the issues facing vulnerable people (e. g. mental health, disability, homelessness)
- Understanding of Health & Safety in housing
- Competence of using IT
- Car driver with use of own vehicle
