Housing Allocations Officer - Ref: HAO
Starting salary £31,226.52 p.a.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Broxbourne Council's Housing Allocations Team. This key role within the Council's Housing Service is responsible for ensuring that applicants receive fair and consistent access to social housing. The Housing Allocations Officer assesses Housing Register applications, determines levels of housing need in line with the Council's Allocations Policy and relevant legislation, and guides applicants through the allocations and bidding process.
Key responsibilities include working as part of a busy, supportive team, collaborating with housing associations, internal departments and external agencies to deliver a transparent and efficient allocations service.
Required qualifications and experience: previous experience working within a local authority housing setting, knowledge of relevant legislation, a genuine interest in helping people, excellent communication skills, previous experience in a customer‑facing role, good written and analytical skills, GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, and a full driving licence.
