Housing Strategy Officer - Role Overview
This is an exciting role working as part of a successful and highly driven Housing team. You will provide support and expertise focusing on improving housing options for residents in the borough.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop policies and strategies across Hertsmere's Housing department.
- Create and analyse data reports to identify trends within the housing sector and recommend and deliver projects to respond to these.
- Support the Housing Services Manager and Housing Management Team to collate and interpret local outcomes and impact.
- Monitor the department's performance to ensure effective service delivery focusing on homelessness, housing options, housing enforcement and supporting those with complex needs.
- Lead on key projects for the department including maximising rightsizing within social housing.
- Develop successful partnerships and work closely with the Planning team regarding affordable housing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working in a customer‑facing environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other systems quickly.
- Strong organisational and accurate record‑keeping skills.
- Solid understanding of policy and strategy development within the Housing Sector, and experience managing projects and implementing policies from start to finish.
Employment Details
Full‑time, permanent (36 hours per week). The Council operates a hybrid working system where employees may work three days per week from home.
