We are currently looking for an Assistant Independent Living Partner to cover the Bordon area (GU35 0TX) to join us on a 3 month fixed term contract. Full driving license required with available use of car as travel is essential.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for providing the housing management functions in a designated scheme/properties for older people.
  • You will be the first point of contact for tenancy, leasehold and scheme management for customers living in our Independent Living schemes.
  • You will support customers to receive their agreed welfare contact and, when appropriate, refer customers to services within and external to Abri where these might meet an identified need.
  • You will also manage the social alarm system, complete all compliance and health and safety checks across relevant buildings and work collaboratively to create and maintain strong resident involvement and community engagement.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be flexible and have an understanding of the needs of older people and in promoting independence.
  • The candidate should have a strong understanding of housing related issues and have confidence in using IT.
  • The position is a lone working role.
  • Applicants must be prepared to travel and provide cover across the region when required and (by exception) across all Independent Living geography.
  • Applicants need to live within a reasonable distance to the region and patch to be effective in the role.
  • Applicants will need to be prepared to work flexibly as required, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, and outside normal office hours.
  • May be required to respond to critical out-of-hours emergencies to ensure safe handover and customer safety and wellbeing.
  • The normal service hours for Independent Living is 8:00am to 4:00pm. If there is a critical and/or major out of hours emergency within the service, the post holder may be contacted to participate in a response.
  • DBS check required.
