Assistant Housing Officer – East Voids / Lettings Team

Permanent

Grade 3 – £26,409 – £32,654

Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 36.5 hours per week

This will be based on the East Voids Team, 150-152 Kings Road B11 2AP.

Working full time, 3 days in the office and 2 days agile/hybrid, subject to business and service needs.

From time to time, you will be asked to provide cover to other teams within the service across the city to cover emergencies.

The role of the Assistant Housing Officer involves lone working, visiting empty properties, conducting viewings with customers who have bid for properties off the housing register, showing them around, signposting, and handling all end-to-end customer inquiries. Responsibilities include booking lettings, collecting proofs, managing workload, dealing with energy providers, clearing meter debts, collecting keys, and handling lock changes.

We are looking for a highly motivated, organized individual with a can-do attitude and flexibility.

Full training, support, shadowing, and mentoring will be provided. City Housing is undergoing a service redesign to improve customer service by providing seamless, end-to-end, consistent voids and lettings services, aiming to minimize void turnaround times.

The post holder must hold a full driving license.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Repairs Partners to manage repairs to empty properties
  • Completing viewings with customers as part of the lettings process

This role involves site visits to empty properties and conducting viewings with customers. It is desirable (not essential) that applicants can commute to and between site visits (car mileage paid at current rates).
