About The Role
We're looking for an experienced actuarial professional to join our International Organisations Health (IOH) Actuarial Pricing & Consulting team. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping the financial performance and pricing strategy of a diverse international health portfolio. Working in partnership with Underwriting, Finance, Product, Commercial, and Operational teams, you'll provide data-driven insights and actuarial expertise that support business decisions, portfolio profitability, and sustainable growth.
You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Leading pricing reviews across medical and non-medical products, analysing claims, utilisation, premium, membership, provider, and expense data to support sound pricing decisions and portfolio performance.
- Developing pricing assumptions, profitability assessments, scenario analysis, and business cases that support new business, renewals, and strategic decision-making.
- Designing, enhancing, and maintaining actuarial pricing models, tools, and methodologies, while ensuring strong governance, testing, validation, and documentation standards.
- Identifying opportunities to improve pricing processes through automation, standardisation, and the use of analytical tools such as Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar technologies.
- Partnering with Underwriting, Finance, Product, and Commercial teams to provide actuarial insight, challenge assumptions, and support pricing strategy across a diverse international health portfolio.
- Delivering portfolio and client profitability reviews, monitoring claims trends and emerging experience, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Supporting strategic initiatives, pricing transformation projects, market opportunities, and the continued evolution of pricing capabilities across International Health.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- Previous experience in actuarial pricing, insurance pricing, healthcare insurance, or a related analytical environment.
- Progress towards, or completion of, a recognised actuarial qualification, alongside a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong experience in pricing, experience analysis, profitability assessment, claims trend analysis, financial modelling, and business case development.
- Experience working with healthcare, medical, life, disability, accident, income protection, or other insurance products.
- Advanced Excel skills, with experience developing, reviewing, and maintaining complex actuarial or pricing models.
- Experience applying analytical and automation tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of actuarial modelling, pricing governance, control frameworks, and risk management principles.
- Experience partnering with Underwriting, Finance, Product, Commercial, or other business stakeholders to support pricing and portfolio decisions.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and actuarial insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Experience working within international organisations, global portfolios, or multi-currency environments would be advantageous.
- Previous experience mentoring, coaching, or reviewing the work of junior colleagues would be beneficial.
