POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Controller for International Health Delivery Services (IHDS) will lead the financial operations of the IHDS organization, including financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting. This role helps manage the organization’s expenses and supports strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in financial management within a large, multinational corporation, preferably with a background in international health insurance, though this is not essential. The position supervises a team of approximately 10 individuals and influences other finance teams through a matrix reporting environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Act as a strategic business partner to various departments, providing financial guidance to enhance decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements, develop internal benchmarks, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement initiatives.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to improve financial processes and systems, driving value creation aligned with long-term business strategies.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports and analysis for the entire IHDS organization, including detailed function and sub-function reports, and other segments like lines of business.
- Manage quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes, including intercompany allocations, working with functional leaders and local finance teams to estimate costs and enforce expense discipline.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support expense management, provide insights to partners, and inform strategic decisions.
- Manage and mentor the IHDS finance team of about 10 professionals, along with local finance teams via matrix reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred).
- CPA or equivalent certification (preferred).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience (preferably in accounting, controllership, FP&A) within a multinational corporation, ideally in insurance or finance sectors.
- Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, including Microsoft Excel and similar tools.
- Experience with financial systems such as IBM TM1 or equivalent.
- Leadership, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and show initiative.
