About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Strategy for Cigna Global Individual Health (GIH), you will shape and drive the global strategic growth agenda for GIH’s business. Your responsibilities will include defining and executing market development strategies, identifying prioritized customer segments and articulating Cigna’s competitive advantage across diverse geographies. You will work closely with regional sales leaders and subject‑matter experts to craft commercial strategies aligned with macro‑economic trends, portfolio performance insights and evolving stakeholder needs.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Ownership & Market Development: Lead the development and execution of GIH’s global strategic growth agenda. Define prioritized markets and customer segments, articulating Cigna’s right to win. Develop regional commercial strategies in partnership with sales and subject‑matter experts.
- Macro‑Trend & Insight Leadership: Monitor and interpret global macro‑trends (e.g., expatriate mobility, wealth migration) to identify strategic opportunities and risks. Drive insight generation from portfolio performance, competitor activity and stakeholder needs to inform strategic decisions.
- Cross‑Functional Engagement & Execution: Inspire and align cross‑functional teams around GIH’s strategic priorities. Facilitate strategic planning cascades to drive employee engagement and execution. Align GIH strategy with broader International Health objectives, identifying synergies and collaboration opportunities.
- Strategic Planning & Communication: Lead the annual strategic planning process, incorporating market sizing, competitive analysis and scenario modelling. Develop compelling strategic communications and presentation materials for senior leadership engagement.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Proven experience in strategic planning, market development or consulting within global health, insurance or related sectors.
- Strategic & Analytical Skills: Strong strategic thinker with ability to translate global trends into actionable business strategies. Skilled in market sizing, forecasting and scenario modelling; data‑driven with a future‑focused mindset.
- Leadership & Influence: Effective leader with a track record of driving results through cross‑functional collaboration. Strong relationship builder who inspires and aligns teams around strategic priorities.
