About the Role

We are seeking an experienced content and thought leadership professional to help shape the voice of Cigna Healthcare's International Health business.

Reporting to the Head of Brand, this role combines strategic content planning with hands-on content creation. You'll develop and deliver impactful content that supports business priorities, engages key audiences, and strengthens Cigna's position as a trusted leader in international healthcare.

You'll work closely with colleagues across brand, marketing, clinical, communications, digital, and insight teams to develop compelling content that resonates with international employers, brokers, HR and benefits leaders, and globally mobile individuals. From thought leadership reports and executive content to digital articles and campaign assets, you'll be responsible for creating content that informs, inspires, and delivers measurable business value.

This role can be hybrid in our Glasgow office, Work from Home in the UK or hybrid in our Madrid, Spain office.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve the International Health thought leadership and content programme, aligning content strategy to business objectives, audience needs, and brand priorities.
  • Develop and manage a forward-looking editorial roadmap and content calendar, identifying opportunities based on audience insight, market trends, competitor activity, SEO, and performance data.
  • Research, write, edit, and publish high-quality content including articles, reports, white papers, campaign assets, executive content, and thought leadership materials.
  • Translate complex healthcare, clinical, and business topics into engaging, accessible content for a range of global audiences.
  • Lead content projects from concept through publication, collaborating with subject matter experts, stakeholders, agencies, and external partners.
  • Apply SEO, AEO, and content performance insights to optimise content effectiveness and improve future content decisions.
  • Manage content publishing and governance processes, ensuring content meets brand, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Build strong relationships across International Health, providing editorial guidance and helping stakeholders communicate effectively with target audiences.
  • Support executive visibility initiatives, campaign content development, and broader brand priorities as required.

What You'll Bring

  • Significant experience in content marketing, editorial, thought leadership, corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with experience creating long-form, research-led, and digital-first content.
  • Experience developing content strategies, editorial plans, and thought leadership programmes aligned to business objectives.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical, healthcare, commercial, or specialist information into engaging content for non-specialist audiences.
  • Experience using content management systems and managing content through publication workflows.
  • Knowledge of SEO, AEO, content performance measurement, and digital publishing best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a complex organisation.
  • Experience evaluating content performance and using insight and data to inform future content decisions.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience within healthcare, health insurance, employee benefits, wellbeing, or related industries.
  • Experience creating content for B2B audiences, including employers, brokers, HR leaders, or benefits decision-makers.
  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership, PR activity, or senior leadership communications.
  • Experience working in international organisations or across multiple markets and cultures.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments and complex approval processes.
  • Experience with content analytics platforms, SEO tools, and AI-enabled content workflows.
