We’re looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. You’ll play a key role in designing new products and improving existing solutions, working within a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and deliver new product designs within a structured project framework
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings (SolidWorks)
- Develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams
- Ensure projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints
- Support prototype assembly and testing
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 preferred) or equivalent
- Strong experience in product design and development
- Knowledge of simulation techniques (FEA, thermal, vibration analysis)
- Background in precision engineering or complex mechanisms (advantageous)
- Experience designing for challenging environments (e.g. defence) is a plus
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong 3D CAD (SolidWorks) capability
- Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, castings, mouldings)
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles
- Excellent problem‑solving, organisation, and communication skills
- Driven, self‑motivated and detail‑oriented
- Positive, team‑focused mindset with a 'can-do' attitude
- Ability to take ownership and deliver results
