We’re looking for an influential, forward‑thinking Head of Safety, Health & Environment to lead the SHE agenda across their national network delivery. This is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Delivery Officer and will be shaping culture, driving behavioural change, and ensuring our teams and contractors operate safely, responsibly and compliantly every day.
What you’ll lead & deliver:
- Install a positive, people‑focused SHE culture across a large, complex operational business
- Provide strategic leadership to regional SHE Business Partners, Advisors, and specialist practitioners
- Drive continuous improvement of SHE policies, procedures, and management systems
- Oversee contractor compliance from sourcing through mobilisation and delivery
- Lead risk assessment standards and a structured audit programme
- Influence senior leaders and collaborate across business functions
- Support culture change through proactive planning
- Produce high‑quality communications, reports, and training
Prior experience:
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body
- Proven leadership of SHE in a large, complex operating environment
- Strong experience in utilities, telecoms, or construction
- Expertise in contractor management and performance assurance
- A collaborative, commercially aware mindset with the ability to influence at all levels
- A track record of driving sustainable culture change and continuous improvement
