We're looking for an exceptional Lead Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of enterprise systems, integrations, and software delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine deep technical expertise with architectural ownership, helping to build scalable platforms, modern integrations, and high-quality engineering practices. You'll remain close to the code whilst influencing technical direction across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the design and development of backend services and integration platforms
- Owning architecture across Microsoft Dynamics 365, internal systems, and third-party SaaS applications
- Writing production-grade code and setting engineering standards
- Mentoring and supporting engineers across Python and .NET ecosystems
- Driving best practice across code quality, testing, CI/CD and technical delivery
- Working closely with Product, QA and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Championing the practical and responsible use of AI development tools to improve engineering velocity and quality
- Making key architectural decisions that support business growth and operational excellence
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer or Senior Engineering role
- Deep hands-on expertise in Python and/or .NET
- Strong background in backend engineering, APIs, integrations and event-driven architectures
- Experience designing and building solutions across ERP platforms, ideally Dynamics 365
- Strong SQL and data modelling expertise
- Cloud experience across AWS and/or Azure
- Practical DevOps knowledge including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
- Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural strategy
- Experience using modern AI coding tools to enhance software development
