As a Supply Chain Data Enablement & Analytics Intern, you will support the Ciena Global Distribution Company, Ltd. team in leveraging data to optimize supply chain operations, improve decision-making, and drive efficiency. You will assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to identify trends, create insights, and contribute to actionable recommendations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and organize supply chain data from various sources (e.g., ERP systems, logistics platforms, inventory databases).
- Assist in developing and maintaining dashboards and reports to visualize key supply chain performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct basic statistical analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement within the supply chain.
- Support the development and implementation of data models and analytical tools.
- Collaborate with supply chain professionals to understand data needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Document data processes, methodologies, and findings clearly and concisely.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on supply chain optimization strategies.
- Assist with ad-hoc data requests and projects as needed.
Job Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for working with data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of SQL or other database query languages is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex data insights.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
