The High School Summer Abroad (HSSA) Programme Coordinator is responsible for planning and delivering cultural exchange and study abroad experiences to high school students. This person is in charge of providing logistics in terms of accommodation, daily cultural activities, and ensuring high-quality experiences that prepare students to live in a multicultural world. The HSSA Coordinator also develops creative academic and cultural activities that help high school students develop new perspectives and encourage curiosity.
Other key responsibilities include overseeing health, safety, and security (HSS) resources and assisting with communication with parents or legal guardians during the programme. This is a highly interactive position, requiring collaboration with colleagues across the organisation.
Primary responsibilities- Plan and implement a calendar of academic and cultural activities for the duration of the programme, including budgeting for logistics such as meals, transportation, housing, and other student activities included in the curriculum.
- Accurately audit pre-departure tasks in CRM platforms, including reviewing student documentation, making reservations, and managing day-to-day operations.
- Organise, prepare, and deliver orientation sessions for the HSSA programme.
- Communicate and coordinate programme details with centre staff, legal guardians, participants, and Programme Leaders.
- Provide customer service to prospective and current programme participants.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality and academic excellence for HSSA programme participants.
- Deliver workshops to Programme Leaders as part of their training scheme.
- Document participant feedback after the programme and follow up on evaluations.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
- Assist in the implementation and coordination of CIEE health, safety, and security (HSS) practices.
- Document any health, safety, or behavioural incidents using the online platform (Salesforce).
- Take responsibility for the CIEE emergency phone according to the rota.
- Familiarise yourself with first aid and bystander intervention training and be prepared to deliver this content to students when required.
- Coordinate mental health support for students during the programme.
- Work flexible hours as required, depending on unexpected situations.
We are seeking to appoint someone with the following competences:
- Education – Undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Experience – A minimum of one year of relevant experience
- Organisation – Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Flexibility – Ability to work with a flexible time schedule, some evenings, and weekends, as required, and as part of a small team.
- Intercultural – Strong commitment to inclusion and diversity
- Technology – Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and Microsoft Teams.
Candidates must be able to work in the UK. We cannot provide visa sponsorship.
SalaryThe role is offered on a fixed-term contract from 7 April 2026 to 31 July 2026. The salary for the role is £29,000 per annum (pro rata) for a 40-hour working week.
