Role Description

Role: Urban Ecology Instructor

Department: Academics

Contract Type: Fixed-Term / Contract

Pay: £4,500

Hours: 45 in-person contact hours

Dates: January 5 – February 16, 2026

Teaching Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is seeking an instructor to teach an in-person course entitled Urban Ecology for the CIEE Open Campus program over the upcoming Spring 2026 term. For more information on the course, please find it here.

The Course Instructor should have excellent classroom management skills and experience teaching university-level students. The Course Instructor and other instructors will be supported by the Academics Team based in CIEE\’s teaching location in London, the CIEE London Centre in Russell Square.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum of 2 years\’ experience teaching university-level students
• Experience teaching and/or working with US undergraduate students preferred
• Master\’s degree required, and PhD preferred
• Significant experience in the subject area related to the course
• Outstanding intercultural communications skills
• High level of English proficiency required; all courses will be delivered in English
• Experience working with an LMS (e.g., Canvas)
