The South London Gallery seeks a graduate intern with an interest in contemporary visual art and a desire to learn about arts marketing and press. You’ll need good IT skills, excellent organisational abilities, attention to detail and a professional telephone manner.
You’ll be working with the Marketing and Communications Manager to:
- Maintain the SLG’s online presence
- Manage press cuttings
- Collate statistics
- Assist at private views and special events
- Conduct research
- Give general administrative support
A good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop and video editing software is desirable. The SLG office is extremely busy and you will need to show initiative and enthusiasm, even with the more mundane aspects of the role. Previous interns have gone on to press and marketing roles at major museums and galleries.
The successful candidate will be available for three days per week, for three months. This is an unpaid position but London travel card expenses will be reimbursed.
