Description & Requirements

Job Purpose:

Provide quality engineering leadership and support across the business, acting as the primary quality representative for nominated customers. Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory requirements a quality management system requirement while driving continuous improvement, problem solving and customer satisfaction.

Main Duties:

  • Provide technical guidance and support on quality and process requirements across the business.
  • Ensure customer quality requirements are accurately incorporated into products, processes and documentation.
  • Generate, review and approve customer and internal quality documentation, including AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Lead investigations into non-conforming products, customer complaints and quality issues, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
  • Review and approve product release documentation in line with customer requirements.
  • Support customer, supplier and third-party quality audits.
  • Analyse quality data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and support Quality Engineers and Quality Inspectors, promoting best practice across the business.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improves process capability and extend customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and support New Product Introduction activities.
  • Deputise for the Quality Manager when required.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineering role within an electronic manufacturing environment (Desirable)
  • Experience working to AS9100 and/or ISO9001 standards
  • Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to lead quality improvement activities and support cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail with pro-active approach to continuous improvement
