Key Responsibilities:
- Soldering a variety of products, including SMT and PTH components, wires, and thermal planes using a variety of equipment.
- Following detailed assembly instructions and build standards.
- Performing hand cleaning, fitting mechanical fixings, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Completing paperwork for traceability such as batch records, build reports, and logs.
- Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to identify and correct errors ensuring no scrap is created.
- Attending team meetings and contributing ideas to improve processes.
- Maintaining tools and equipment, including microscopes and soldering irons.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety guidelines and following ESD requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Working flexibly to help meet weekly production targets.
Person Specification:
- Minimum 12 months experience in soldering of electronic printed circuit boards and currently certified to IPC 610 or J-STD.
- Knowledge of high critical soldering skills.
- Skilled in SMT rework, multi-layer/PTH hand soldering, and wire modifications.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of English including verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work efficiently ensuring accuracy to a high level of throughput.
