My client is a rapidly growing food business who supply bespoke products into the foodservice sector. They are now looking for a commercially minded food buyer to join their growing team. This role is responsible for the sourcing and procurement of ingredients, packaging, and indirect spend, ensuring quality, reliability, and cost efficiency across the business.
Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contracts, monitor market trends, and support operational continuity. You will also play an important role in supporting new product development projects, maintaining compliance with food safety standards, and improving procurement processes.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a procurement or buying role, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience within the food industry, knowledge of import/export processes, ERP systems, or CIPS qualifications would be advantageous.
