My client is expanding their Electrical Engineering team at their Sheffield office and they are seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join the team within Building Services. You will be assisting engineers on building services projects and be mentored by senior members of the team.

As a member of the department your responsibilities will include:

  • Input to the delivery of the Mechanical & Electrical Services Design on assigned projects.
  • Maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of the Mechanical & Electrical Services design and post‑contract implementation offered by the client.
  • Preparing scheme design drawings (from concept right through to detailed design).
  • Taking guidance from more senior engineers and implementing the strategies identified inputting to the Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports.
  • Understanding and working within the commercial framework for projects.
  • Developing Electrical Services detail design.
  • Ensuring that Electrical Services Detailed output meets quality requirements.
  • Understanding deadlines and client’s briefing.
  • Willing to adapt and gain vital experience to develop your engineering and design skills.
  • Developing designs and ensuring delivery dates are met.
  • Assisting more senior engineers in achieving quality design outputs.
  • Providing guidance to assistant and apprentice engineers.
  • Assisting in developing electrical services scheme design proposals.
  • Assisting in the delivery of Electrical Services detailed design information.
  • Using all necessary design software such as CAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Amtech, Dialux, PV Sol, Manual Calculations and Chorus.
  • Monitoring electrical installation works against Electrical Services Design.
  • Ensuring project closure and conclusion of all defects.
  • Reviewing all test certification and witness onsite test match certification.

As your experience and competency grows you will be given further responsibility and work towards becoming a Project Electrical Engineer. The position demands excellent communication skills; you will be representing the client through direct contact with clients and other design team members.
