The Opportunity This is more than simply producing designs.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading the mechanical delivery of complex Data Centre projects from concept through to completion.

You'll work closely with Associate Directors, Project Directors and multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards whilst mentoring junior engineers and maintaining excellent client relationships.

Your expertise will directly influence the performance, resilience and sustainability of facilities supporting some of the world's largest technology organisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design of hyperscale and mission critical Data Centre projects.
  • Produce and review detailed engineering calculations, reports and specifications.
  • Design HVAC, chilled water, condenser water, ventilation and mechanical building services systems.
  • Coordinate designs using Revit and BIM Level 2 workflows.
  • Review and check the work produced by junior engineers.
  • Mentor Graduate and Mechanical Design Engineers, supporting their technical development.
  • Attend client meetings and present engineering solutions with confidence.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Public Health, Structural and Civil Engineering teams.
  • Support Project Managers in delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Resolve complex engineering challenges through innovative and practical design solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with current British Standards, Building Regulations and industry best practice.
  • Contribute to technical excellence across the wider engineering team.

About You You'll already have experience working within a Building Services Design Consultancy delivering Data Centre or Mission Critical projects.

You'll be comfortable taking ownership of packages of work, managing your own workload and supporting less experienced engineers whilst remaining hands–on with the technical design.
