Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading construction and property consultancy in the search for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to join their growing team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute M&E cost professional to join a highly respected consultancy and play a key role in delivering specialist cost management services across a diverse range of projects throughout the UK.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide specialist Mechanical and Electrical cost management expertise across a variety of sectors and project types. Working closely with project teams, clients, and senior stakeholders, you will support the delivery of commercially successful outcomes while also mentoring and developing junior team members. This position offers significant variety, with opportunities to collaborate across multiple offices and client accounts nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cost planning, estimating, procurement, and contract administration activities.
  • Manage valuations, variations, payment recommendations, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Monitor commercial performance and identify project risks and opportunities.
  • Track contractual obligations, project changes, and financial exposures.
  • Resolve contractual matters and support the mitigation of commercial disputes.
  • Maintain accurate cost records, financial data, and reporting documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and delivery partners.
  • Manage client expectations and contribute to exceptional service delivery.
  • Support and mentor junior team members through coaching, delegation, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Contribute to commercial governance, compliance, and risk management processes.
  • Assist with proposals, benchmarking exercises, market intelligence, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience delivering quantity surveying and commercial management services within a consultancy or client-side environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical building services systems.
  • Extensive experience within a specialist M&E cost management role.
  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation with the RICS or equivalent professional body.
  • Demonstrable experience across both pre-contract and post-contract services.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working across multiple sectors and delivery environments.
  • Proficiency in cost management, reporting, and project management software.
  • A reputation for delivering high-quality work and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Previous experience managing, mentoring, and developing junior professionals.
