We're working with a well–established Marine R&D/ Manufacturing company in Hampshire who are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team.
We're looking for someone demonstrable electrical design experience and strong fault–finding skills, ideally from a Marine background.
You will have
- Degree or Master’s in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role within the marine electronics industry
- Electrical circuit design – AC/DC
- Can create and interpret schematics, technical drawings, control panel and circuit diagrams
- In–depth knowledge of marine electrical standards
- Strong fault–finding – logical, methodical approach
- Experience with electric motors, switching circuits, and motor controllers
- EPLAN and Auto CAD for design/documentation
- Good understanding of control system principles
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to self–manage workload
- Willing to travel for on–site commissioning
Desired but not essential
- Marine CANbus systems – NMEA2000 and ruggedised sensors
- Appreciation of PLC programming, particularly Siemens
- Code Sys 3.5 experience
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Understanding of marine product certification requirements
- SIL Levels and design risk assessments
- Practical marine experience (personal boating or professional)
