Overview

Your new company is a large public sector body with an expansive portfolio of estate across Northern Ireland. This body has a dedicated estates department that maintains this portfolio, which includes over 1100 buildings. The Estates Department is responsible for ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for the stakeholders and users of these buildings, delivering a planned preventative and response maintenance works programme annually that satisfies a robust financial and performance reporting regime.

Responsibilities

  • This is a contract role for an initial 9-12 month duration with the possibility of extension.
  • You will work as part of a larger estates team who report to the Senior Maintenance Manager.
  • Supervise the compliance with all relevant current regulations and legislation, with particular emphasis on the Health and Safety of the general public.
  • Carry out regular visits to properties in relation to day-to-day maintenance problems and planned maintenance programmes.
  • Inspect, supervise and instruct Mechanical, HVAC and Electrical contractors in relation to the quality of work in progress.
  • Further job duties can be provided on request.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical studies with 2 years post qualified experience; or ONC or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Electrical Studies discipline with a minimum of 4 years' post qualified experience; or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance role.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance issues with sound management techniques and strategies to problem solve and use your own initiative.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations in relation to Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance and in particular CDM regulations.

What you’ll get in return

  • This contract offers an immediate start working alongside a large team of Construction, Surveying and Engineering professionals.
  • Ballymena based along with flexible working times, hybrid working.
  • Salary range £39,862 - £42,839 pro rata.
  • Working hours, 36 per week, Monday to Friday.
  • 36 days annual leave, including stat days, pro rata.
