Due to sustained business growth and increasing project demand, a leading automation solutions provider who are part of a well–established engineering group is seeking a proactive and detail–oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join their close–knit team. Based on the scenic north east coast of the UK, this role offers the chance to work in a stable, supportive environment where your contribution will be valued across a range of industrial projects. You will play a vital role in delivering high–quality electrical designs to industrial automation clients, ensuring compliance with standards while supporting innovation and efficiency in manufacturing and production.
Electrical Design Engineer – The Role
- Create and develop detailed electrical schematic diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical
- Prepare and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and procurement
- Estimate and cost control panels from customer specifications, documentation, and site meetings
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers during design reviews and project kick–offs
- Support and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to validate panel performance
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations throughout the design process
Electrical Design Engineer – The Person
- HNC (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline or relevant experience
- Proven experience in the design and manufacture of industrial control panels is highly desirable
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical preferred
- Strong attention to detail, problem–solving ability, and a commitment to high–quality output
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret technical specifications and liaise confidently with clients and cross–functional teams
