Your new role
As a Building Services Design Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team responsible for delivering innovative engineering solutions across a varied project portfolio.
You will take ownership of design packages, liaise with clients and project stakeholders, and contribute to projects through all stages of design and delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Producing high‑quality detailed building services engineering designs
- Undertaking engineering calculations, analysis and technical assessments
- Developing schematics, drawings, specifications, equipment schedules and supporting documentation
- Representing the business at client, contractor and design team meetings
- Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Contributing to business development and supporting the growth of the consultancy
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and industry best practice
- Supporting project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assisting colleagues and contributing to wider company activities where required
- Delivering projects to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards
- What you'll need to succeed
- Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution, or be working towards Chartership with the ability to achieve this within 12 months
- Proven experience designing building services engineering systems
- Strong understanding of low‑carbon and sustainable building design principles
- The ability to explain and justify technical design decisions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and project delivery capabilities
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Commercial awareness and project management skills
- A proactive approach to professional development and continuous learning
- Eligibility to work within the UK
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Experience within residential, commercial, education, leisure, secure environments or critical systems sectors
- Client management and business development experience
- Bid preparation and tender submission experience
