Your new role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering high‑quality design solutions from initial concept through to final implementation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing mechanical design solutions and contributing to project strategy from early concept to completion
- Undertaking mechanical design calculations for major building projects
- Producing high‑quality design drawings, schematics, diagrams, specifications and schedules
- Ensuring mechanical designs comply with British Standards, Building Regulations and all relevant industry guidance
- Embedding energy‑efficient and low‑carbon principles within all mechanical solutions
- Collaborating closely with clients, contractors and internal design teams to ensure project objectives are met
- Supporting less experienced engineers and contributing to a strong team environment
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, fully understanding project briefs and delivering to expectations
What you'll need to succeed
You will already be operating at an intermediate level within a building services consultancy and be ready to take the next step in your career. You should have:
- A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related field
- Progress toward chartership with IMechE or CIBSE (or a willingness to work toward it)
- Experience designing mechanical systems within commercial, education or healthcare sectors
- Proficiency with MEP Revit and familiarity with BIM workflows, with the ability to integrate models and collaborate with wider design teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
